"Cruel Intentions" The 90s Musical Needs Performers
Audition for "Cruel Intentions" the 90s musical. In search of cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. Additional info: Singing Cast: 8-10 Dance Chorus: 4 Improv/Swings: 4 Directors don’t care about experience as much as talent, a growth mindset, and a good attitude. Looking for strong singers who are comfortable dancing and strong dancers who are comfortable singing. Also looking for a small improv troupe to create an immersive environment and cover/swing for leads/supporting roles. Rehearsals will be 7/1-8/12 M-T 6:30-10 Sat + Sun 10-2 Show Dates: 8/16-9/1, 2024 List possible conflicts between 7/1-9/1. Call Backs will be invitation only, Mid-April. To play 18. Manhattan’s richest and most dangerous playboy and Kathryn’s manipulative stepbrother. Baritone/Tenor; played by Ryan Phillipe in the original film.
To play 17-18. Manchester Prep Student; sexy, manipulative, and devious with a heart two sizes too small; Sebastian’s stepsister. Mezzo-Soprano, must mix/belt up to a high D#; played by Sarah Michelle Gellar in the original film.
To play 17-18. A smart Kansas transplant thrust into New York City’s rich prep school world when her father is made headmaster of Sebastian and Kathryn’s school; she is passionate about abstaining from sexual activity before marriage; she becomes Sebastian’s virginal summer conquest turned first true love. Mezzo-Soprano; played by Reese Witherspoon in the original film.
To play 14-16. A naive incoming freshman that Kathryn plans to corrupt in her quest for revenge. Mezzo-Soprano, must mix/belt up to a high D; played by Selma Blair in the original film. Strong vocalist with excellent comedic timing.
To play 18-20. Cecile’s well-mannered Black/African-American music tutor who also becomes a pawn in Sebastian and Kathryn’s game. Baritone/Tenor.
Tenor Manchester Prep Student/Ensemble Member. To play 17-18. Manchester Prep Student/Ensemble Member; out and proud, Blaine is a gay high schooler who enjoys the fine art of blackmail; and sleeping with so many “straight” guys in school, he has a lot of blackmail to dish out. Tenor.
To play 18. Manchester Prep’s All-American football stud known for tackling the tight ends on and off the field. May cover Sebastian. High Tenor, must mix/belt up to a high B.
Plays Cecile’s mother, Bunny, and Sebastian’s Therapist; as well as Dean Of School in Finale. Cecile’s mother is a full-time wasp and part-time racist. Mezzo/Alto; played by Christine Baranski in the film.
