About the project: Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, Book by Joe DiPietro / It’s 1955, and into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone he meets. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.” Additional info: -Please, find the file attached for the form. Performance Dates: July 12-14, 2024 at the DERRY OPERA HOUSE SCHEDULE: REHEARSALS: (at Majestic Studios – starts 5/13/24); MONDAYS, TUESDAYS, & THURSDAYS from 6:00-9:30 pm; MANDATORY TECH WEEK: (at Derry Opera House); SUNDAY, JULY 7th from 12 pm-8 pm (Load In); MONDAY, JULY 8th at 6 pm; TUESDAY, JULY 9th at 6 pm; WEDNESDAY, JULY 10th at 6 pm; THURSDAY, JULY 11th at 6 pm; PERFORMANCES: (at Derry Opera House); FRIDAY, JULY 12th at 7 pm; SATURDAY, JULY 13th at 7 pm (no matinee); SUNDAY, JULY 14th at 2 pm; followed by the mandatory strike. Please prepare a musical selection that shows off the character of your voice; please bring sheet music (pianist provided) or a backing track (no voices); you may blu-tooth to our stereo or bring a CD.
