The company is holding auditions for "BIG FISH!" show and looking for actors, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, BIG FISH tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest…and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him—most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. As Edward’s final chapter approaches, Will embarks on his own journey to find out who his father really is, revealing the man behind the myth. Additional info: Please arrive on time with 32 bars of a song not from BIG FISH that shows your range and personality. Bring sheet music or backing track in correct key, no acapella auditions please. A charming, charismatic storyteller. Young Edward is enthusiastic and romantic, the quintessential hometown hero. Older Edward is devoted yet absent, nearing the end of his life. A tour de force for an actor of big voice, acting, and movement that can play a wide age range
Patient and calm, the perfect balance to Edward’s enthusiasm. Young Sandra is sweet and innocent. As an older woman, she adores Edward and tries to bring reconciliation to her husband and son. A strong singing and acting role, requires a capable mover.
An earnest young man wanting to reconnect with his father, but unable to appreciate Edward’s view of life. He is a successful professional, new husband, and expectant father. Strong tenor voice and dramatic actor.
Will’s wife. Successful, intelligent, a new bride and expectant mother, she acts as the bridge between Edward and Will. Some singing, no dancing.
Edward’s larger than life friend. Shy, intelligent, and charming. While he will be “giantized” this actor should still be large in stature and personality.
Eccentric owner of the Calloway Circus, he is also a werewolf! Strong personality, outgoing and humorous.
Mysterious and knowledgeable. Convinces Edward to pursue a big life without fear. Big belt voice.
Edward’s first girlfriend. A dreamer with a big voice, she ages into a tired, disillusioned version of her younger self.
A mermaid. Elegant, graceful, and comfortable in her skin. Featured dancer, also in dance ensemble.
Classic bully and Sandra’s first fiancé. He also appears as RED FANG, the war villain.
Nerdy brother and shadow of Don Price.
Edward’s friend and physician, kind but frank. Also plays OLD WEST JUDGE.
Young Sandra’s two friends that perform with her at the circus. Strong singing and dance skills, also part of dance ensemble.
