12 roles
A nameless orphan who is quiet, and friendless in the beginning, but turns into a hero by the end. Very smart. Despite what Prentiss says he is the true leader of the orphans. And like most interpretations of the story of Peter Pan, he doesn’t have a whole lot of faith in grown ups. He is brave and a survivor. With the help of the other orphans and Molly, Boy is the one that takes you on the journey of how Peter Pan came to be. (Must look young enough to play a teen)
A ruthless pirate with the help of his right hand man, Smee, captures The Wasp. He is known for his handlebar mustache, and theatrical attributes. As well as his comedic timing. Black Stache is both the villain as well as the comic relief of the show, and he has to be able to play both seamlessly.
Molly is a leader, who was raised to believe that girls can do anything boys can. She is strong willed, smart, curious, fearless, and only thirteen years old. She is the youngest of all the Starcatchers, and is willing to do anything to help protect them, and her country. (Must look young enough to play a teen)
Stache’s first mate. He’s simple minded, loyal, and will follow the Stache blindly by participating in any of his hair brained schemes.
The oldest of the three orphans. He desperately wants to be the leader. Unfortunately for him, he knows he never will be, especially when Molly joins in. He’s ambitious and strong willed.
The youngest of the orphans. Is food motivated, and will faint at the slightest mention of sticky toffee pudding. He is the most laid back of the three boys, and the quickest to trust Molly. Must look young enough to play a teen.
The very model of a Victorian English gentleman. Lord Aster is a Starcatcher who has set out to train his daughter, Molly, to become the same. He is devoted to his daughter, his country and his queen.
Mrs. Bumbrake is Molly’s nanny. She is the very definition of a British nanny, but can be prone to alliterations. She is no-nonsense, but despite her age she still has a girlish charm about her. Teacher was formerly a salmon, but a dip in the starstuff filled grotto has turned them into a knowledgeable mermaid.
Commander of Queen Victoria’s fastest ship in the fleet, The Wasp. He is an old schoolmate of Lord Aster.
Fighting Prawn is the leader of the Mollusks that the gang encounters on the island. He was sold into slavery in England as a boy, and was forced to work in their kitchens. He speaks almost exclusively in Italian cooking terms, and upon returning to his home island he has killed any British citizen that has set foot there. Grempkin is the mean and nasty schoolmaster from St. Norbert’s Orphanage for Lost Boys.
Bill Slank is the greedy captain of the Neverland. Slank’s greed is what sets the plot of the show in motion, when he tries to capture the Queen’s treasure for his own. Hawking Clam is Fighting Prawn’s son.
A flatulent sailor that has taken a liking to Mrs. Bumbrake. He is good natured and a little goofy.
