About the project: About the Show: Set against the colorful backdrop of Renaissance Italy, The Fake Husband weaves together laughter, love, and mistaken identities. Expect slapstick humor, witty banter, and unexpected twists! Rate: $100 guaranteed stipend. Additional info: Seeking to add 4-6 actors to current company of artists. Looking for performers who embrace spontaneity, creativity, and collaboration. While physical theatre experience is preferred, directors welcome performers from diverse backgrounds. Veterans and newcomers alike are encouraged to audition: they’re not looking for experts, but rather passionate players who relish the joy of performance. Initial auditions will be held in groups of around ten to get a sense of your creativity, willingness to play, generosity of spirit, sense of humor, and collaboration skills. No preparation required. Callbacks will be from 12pm to 4pm. We will assign your timeslots. At the callbacks, directors will ask you to interact with the Commedia masks. If invited to Callbacks, they will send you a bit of introductory information about the Commedia stock characters. Directors encourage you to select a character to embody in the room, but you should be prepared to play with all of the potential masks.
