Singers & Actors & Dancers Required For "The Bodyguard" Show
Open auditions for "The Bodyguard" show. In need of actors. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. About the project: "Based on the 1992 film of the same name, THE BODYGUARD tells the story of Rachel Marron, a famous pop superstar who becomes the target of a stalker. Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent, is hired for the job of protecting Rachel. As Rachel and Frank’s professional relationship develops, a deeper and unexpected connection blossoms between them. The show is based on the music of Whitney Houston, and explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the lengths one is willing to go, to protect those they care about." Additional info: There are roles available for all types, but please make note that there are a lot of non-singing roles for male identifying actors. So if singing isn't your thing, have no fear. Auditionees for singing roles should prepare a musical theatre selection that is 32 bars. Please bring piano sheet music. A pianist will be onsite to play for your audition. Auditionees for non-singing roles should prepare a one-minute monologue. (Those roles still may be asked to sing in a group.) Some auditionees will also participate in a dance audition. Be prepared to learn a short dance combination. Wear comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes. No crocs, please! Theatre is dedicated to equity, diversity and inclusion in casting. This includes but is not limited to; age, size, gender identity, and race/ethnicity. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, January 10 at 7 pm. Rehearsals will begin on or about Monday, January 22. E3 to B5. An Academy Award-nominated music superstar who is being stalked and sent death threats. Rachel is strong and cares deeply for her family and team. She needs to sing in the style of Whitney Houston and move well.
A former Secret Service agent, athletic; sharp witted and instinctive; handsome and charismatic. He radiates a silent strength. Frank sings one song in a karaoke style. No major singing required, but must have the confidence to sing in front of a theatre audience.
E5 to G3. Rachel’s sister, a very talented singer who has taken a back seat to her sister’s rising star. Strong, but quiet type. Must be a very strong singer.
Rachel Marron's long-standing Manager/Guardian Angel. He has looked after her from the start and helps run her busy life. A kind and loyal man who always has Rachel’s best interests at heart.
Age 21+. Rachel Marron's security. A bouncer. He is fiercely protective of Rachel and would do anything for her. A kind man.
Rachel's publicist. Deeply ambitious and doesn't have patience for anyone who isn't doing exactly what he wants. His belief is that the whole Oscar nomination for Rachel is because of his hard work and his alone. He believes he is her driving force.
Rachel Marron's stalker, military type, weird, outcast. Should be able to sing; has one featured solo vocal line.
An experienced and knowledgeable Secret Service Agent; professional. Athletic. Not unlike Frank Farmer. Should be able to sing in a karaoke vein in the same way as Frank does. Advanced singing skills not required.
