Casting Call for "The Rain Lady" Student Film

(Arab/Arabic Speaker): An impoverished and illegal Arab mother trying to raise her daughter, Yara, in the states. Up until this point in her life, Noor has been timid and controlled by her family and ex-husband. This film takes place after she leaves her abusive husband who she came to the US with. She is trying to find safety for her and Yara, but ultimately Noor just wishes she could have fun. Play Noor with an Arab accent if possible. COMPS: Alex from Maid, Fiona from Shameless.

(Supporting): Has a good heart, but a tough exterior. His shawarma shop doesn't get much business, and now he's getting audited. He doesn't want to fire Noor, but he has no other choice. Moe has a soft spot for her daughter Yara, who is like the kid he's never had. When Moe gets really stressed, he needs to go for a smoke break.

Has an extremely rough and sassy attitude, which is warranted based on the context of her difficult life. She's never had it easy and has had a very underprivileged upbringing. She's always gotten the short end of the stick. Today, in particular, is the worst day of Krystal's life, and she decides to take it out on Noor, the cashier who neglected to return a penny in her change.

(Day player): A landlord to the protagonist Noor, whose been several months late on rent. He has been decent to her thus far, especially letting her stay on his property while being an illegal immigrant, but he's becoming frustrated. He's a tired guy who doesn't have time to deal with more issues.
