About the project: Technicolor Dreamboat is a musical internet series following Greyson, a young man with magic hair that changes colors like a mood ring. He navigates the perils of young adulthood, like his mean older brother, the pretty girl at the record store, and his desire to create music, all while hiding his hair and emotions. Technicolor explores toxic masculinity and mental health discussions-- tackling the unspoken male isolation crisis. We want to give young men a character to embody: someone who can show them what it is to step into the world as themselves and feel, love, and grow authentically. Greyson is the indie boy of the century. Born with hair that changes color with his feelings, he keeps his head down and feelings hidden. He’s a classic wallflower with a bit more edge, and very content with no attention or excitement. An aspiring musician, he constantly battles the desire to express his feelings with a fear of the what if. *Singing and dancing required
Brick is Greyson’s older brother and a living hell. He’s the world’s golden boy, shining and bright, but makes Greyson a black sheep in comparison. His insecurity manifests in shitty behavior and below-the-belt comments. Booming but tactful, Brick takes up space everywhere he goes, stealing hearts everywhere he goes. *Singing required
Iris is a literal delight. With golden retriever energy and undiagnosed ADHD, she explores life with an open-eyed whimsy and excitement. She’s the lead singer of a grunge girl band, craving the cool confidence of rock band energy, but finds her genuine sweetness a deterrent of aspirational badassery. It’s no shock that Greyson falls in love with her– who wouldn’t? Singing and dancing required
