4 roles
(female presenting) Christopher’s teacher and mentor. Interesting person not in the mold of a ‘typical’ teacher. A young woman or could be non-gender specific. Caring, determined to help Christopher succeed as she follows him through his journal entries.
Blue-collar worker, father of Christopher who does not always understand how to relate to his son. Loving father, at times confused and frustrated.
Christopher’s mother who has abandoned Christopher but is eventually reunited with him. She is sincere and honest with her son though she is lost as to how to relate with him. Not comfortable with conflict, has a sense of guilt, would rather evade challenges than confront them.
(up to 10 people cast). They play different people in Christopher’s life. They reflect to the audience how Christopher is perceiving the world around him. On stage for most of the show, move set pieces, and are part of stylized, choreographed movement.
