Casting Call For Play “Don’t Dress For Dinner”
Theatre is holding auditions for the Marc Camoletti comedic farce, “Don’t Dress For Dinner”. Seeking cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Bernard is planning a romantic weekend at home with his mistress while his wife Jacqueline is away. He has invited a cook to prepare a gourmet dinner and has arranged for his best friend Robert to provide an alibi. Now, suppose that Jacqueline and Robert are secretly lovers and have determined that she will not leave for the weekend. Suppose the cook must pretend to be the mistress and the mistress is unable to cook. Suppose the cook’s husband appears unexpectedly. Add mistaken identities and what could go wrong? An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as everyone improvises at breakneck speed. Additional info: Ages are undefined in the script, but couples should be age appropriate to each other. The character of Suzette should appear 21 to early 30s. All roles require physical comedy and a willingness to be in suggestive (though not overtly sexual) proximity to other actors. There is no nudity. Any use of the playwright’s suggested accents will be determined by the cast’s ability. Rehearsals are tentatively to be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, beginning January 21. Production dates are March 15-17 and 22-24, 2024. If you are interested, please apply.
