Synopsis: A CPS worker, Carrie, interrupts a 1,000-year-old Norseman’s (Gorm Eriksson) ritual sacrifice of his foster child, Victor, and she must try to escape the old man’s violence and his endless rambling about his memoirs. Note: This is a 10-page short film for the Film-Style Production class at Austin Community College Highland. Rate: As this is a student film, pay cannot be offered, but actors will be credited and receive a digital copy of the finished film. Pizza provided. Production cannot accommodate for travel. Lead. An old man. He may be a 1,000-year-old Norse Viking who has been sacrificing innocents throughout the years in order to extend his life as he has not yet found his Great Purpose that will make him the Most Important Man In History. He may also be a grieving elderly man whose fostger son grew extremely ill and had a mental break because of it. Eitehr way, he is a threat, and he believes he is destined for greatness. Bonus Skills: Scandinavian Accent/Dialect, Ax/Sword Wielding.
Lead. A young CPS worker who got into the field because her father was absent and abusive, and she wanted to ensure that no child had to suffer the same. While Carrie is good with kids, she has a short temper when it comes to authority figures who abuse their power - and she’s willing to put up a fight if it comes down to it.
