About the project: "Radium Girls" is based on a true story from the 1920s, when radium was hailed as a miracle cure and luminous watch dials were a craze. The action follows a watch dial painter who has contracted a mysterious illness as she struggles with her employer, her family, and public opinion for recognition and justice. This fast-paced, highly theatrical play explores the intersection of science and culture and celebrates the resiliency of the human spirit. Fans of historic film and TV dramas such as “Call the Midwife,” “Hidden Figures,” and “Erin Brockovich,” are sure to be inspired by “Radium Girls.” Additional info: Play rehearsals will begin in January.
