About the project: WITCHLAND A new and exciting theatrical experience that's not your average night out. Instead, WITCHLAND offers theater-goers traditional storytelling alongside heart-pounding, sensory immersion. Imagine visiting a haunted house too scary for children and based on a real place. It’s moving, funny, and will scare the bejeezus out of you. The story of WITCHLAND is based on the author’s experiences growing up in Richland, a small town in eastern Washington deemed “the most toxic place in the Western Hemisphere." This play tells the story of a family who moves to a town plagued by decades of misfortune. It's unclear whether the terror they are shrouded in is owed to the nuclear reactor that the town revolves around...or something more sinister. Featured is an elusive elderly woman living alone across the street and her infamous piles of sticks. Is she actually a witch, or just another victim of… WITCHLAND? Rate: All actors will receive $100/performance. Additional info: Headshot & resume’ required. Auditions will be cold readings from the script. NO PREPARED MONOLOGUES. Production Rehearsals begin January 3, 2024 (A few possible in December). Rehearsals will be on weekday evenings and weekend mornings/afternoons. Runs February 6, 2024 thru March 2, 2024 with Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday performances.

Very strong willed, smart and funny. Nothing gets past her and she’s basically the “glue” holding the family together. The “Hero” of the play.
One of Ali's Dads. Gay. Flamboyant, funny, campy with an edge. Drinker struggling with his sobriety and losing the battle. A sarcastic, out of work restaurant manager.
Ali's other father. Gay. Environmental Engineer. Smart, grounded, trying to hold his family together, so a little headstrong and stubborn. Later succumbing an illness and an inability to sleep.
Ali’s new “BFF” in a new town and Brett’s girlfriend. A bit flighty and spacey. Deals with unexpected and frightening circumstances that she relies on Ali to help her with.
Shannon’s boyfriend. Normal, everyday boy next door, high school jock type. Gets pulled into the events surrounding him and struggles with decisions he has to make.
Must be comfortable interacting with audience. Woman with a haunting look. Doesn't speak much but must portray a being of immense power. Able to shut someone down with a single look. Cold and frightening. Possibly possessed by an evil entity.
Younger adult version of the witch. Must be comfortable interacting with audience. Must have strong movement skills, be a strong dancer or contortionist and able to frighten us with your body. A truly possessed creature.
