Performers Wanted for 2024 General Auditions

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. The company is holding general auditions for its 2024 Shakespeare-in-the-Park tour on December 15th and 16th, 2023. See the details below. Rate: Contract: Canadian Theatre Agreement. G-House rates. Additional information: Professional actors interested in working with the Fools are invited to submit for our general auditions. Auditions will be held in Ottawa, ON. interested in working with local actors, whose artistic practice is based in Ottawa. Actors must be able to work locally within Ottawa from June to August. Candidates should have a strong handle on Shakespearean text and be able to work outdoors during a variety of weather conditions. Skills in puppetry, movement, and the ability to play hand-held instruments are considered an asset. Each candidate will receive a 15-minute appointment. Candidates will be asked to prepare one Shakespeare monologue of their choice and to be prepared to read for either part of the side posted at the bottom of the page. At the end of their audition candidates may share a short song (either a capella or self accompanied on an instrument) but this is not required. Select candidates will be invited to a 20-minute callback appointment on December 16th between 4 pm – 6 pm. Candidates may be asked to read together at their callback. In accordance with the Canadian Theatre Agreement, scheduling priority will be given to equity members. Show Deets: Rehearsals: June 10th – July 6th 2024. Tour: July 8th – August 24th 2024.
