About the project: Local, Non-Equity performers for various roles in the upcoming 2024 production of "Falsettos". "Hilarious, heartbreaking and utterly unique, Falsettos is a contemporary musical about family, relationships, bar mitzvahs, baseball and AIDS. When Marvin leaves his wife Trina and son Jason to be with his lover Whizzer, tempers flare, problems escalate and everyone learns to grow up." Rate: $50 per performance, stipend provided for rehearsal period. Additional info: Non-Equity out-of-town actors with local housing and transportation options are welcome to audition. Performers of all ethnic and racial background are encouraged to attend. PREPARATION: Prepare 32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre song in the style of the show. Bring sheet music. An accompanist is provided but may not transpose. You may be asked to sing another selection or from the score. Please bring 1 copy of your picture/resume stapled together. One of the ‘lesbians from next door’ – Charlotte is a dedicated doctor alarmed by the mysterious illness that is killing' her gay male patients. Tough, but extremely nurturing and very much in love with her partner, Cordelia. Alto/Mezzo.
The other ‘lesbian from next door’ – Cordelia is Dr. Charlotte’s partner – she runs her own kosher catering business, is very keen on making a nice home– but also wants to be useful and valued for her contribution to the world. High belt voice.
