About the project: The game show first premiered in 1975 and has since become one of the longest-running and most successful programs in television history. Seems the show has gone 40 seasons now. The concept of the show revolves around a large carnival-style wheel with various dollar amounts and prizes on its wedges. Contestants take turns spinning the wheel and then guessing letters to solve word puzzles, hoping to win cash and other rewards. The iconic wheel itself is the centerpiece of the show. It is divided into segments, each featuring different dollar amounts ranging from a few hundred dollars to several thousand. There are also special wedges that offer additional opportunities, such as “Bankrupt,” which causes the contestant to lose all their winnings, and “Free Spin,” which allows them to spin again without penalty. To begin the game, three contestants are chosen from the studio audience. They take turns spinning the wheel and calling out consonants. If the chosen letter is present in the puzzle, the contestants earn the corresponding dollar amount and can continue guessing or spinning the wheel. They can also buy vowels with their winnings, deducting the cost from their total. However, if the guessed letter is not in the puzzle, it becomes the next contestant’s turn. As the puzzle is gradually revealed, contestants can attempt to solve it by guessing the entire phrase or word. Solving the puzzle correctly earns them the accumulated winnings from that round. The player with the highest total at the end of the game moves on to the final round, called the “Bonus Round.” In the Bonus Round, the winner faces a new puzzle and is presented with a limited selection of consonants and a vowel. They must choose these additional letters wisely to increase their chances of solving the puzzle.
