About the project: Their father having deserted them in their childhood, the three Reardon sisters have grown up in a house of women, dominated by their mother, who is only recently dead. One sister has married and cut herself off; another has begun to drink more than she should; and the third, after a scandalous incident at the school where she teaches, is on the brink of madness. Strangely enough this play is teeming with humor. And as the Hollywood Reporter stated: "…he has created three parts that most actresses would trade their souls to play." The middle sister. She is an Assistant Principal at the same school as her sister Anna. Catherine's reaction to both her mother's death and her sister's ailment has been to drink "a little". She is consistently drunk throughout the show.
The wife of the building superintendent. She visits Catherine on a friendly pretense only to try and sell her some toiletries.
Delivers some meat to Catherine. Has a smart mouth.
The oldest sister. She is superintendent to the school district that her sisters work in. Did not have any sort of contact with the family while her mother was suffering, but rather ran off to marry her sister Catherine's boyfriend
The youngest sister. She is suffering a severe nervous breakdown. She has become a complete hypochondriac, obsessed with animals and rabies. She is also on an extended break from school for allegedly molesting a male student.
One of the neighbors who also happens to work in guidance at Anna and Catherine's school and wishes to butter up Mrs. Adams in attempt to gain a better salary. She is very colorful and somewhat obnoxious, which her husband, Bob makes perfectly clear.
Fleur’s husband. Late to the party but does not believe in putting up with any nonsense. A little self-absorbed and unaware, he is the main catalyst for all of the women’s emotional exasperations.
