Seeking Cast for "Hamlet" Stage Play
The company is holding auditions for "Hamlet" Play and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: This production is being set in a post-apocalyptic world, not the historical world of Denmark, but a time in the distant future, in the aftermath of an unspecified cataclysmic event; the nations have reverted to feudal states similar to those know on the medieval times. The heart of the story will remain intact, but the need to cast roles based on specific gender, ethnic or other time-period specific reasonings therefore is largely eliminated. Our aim with this production is the tell the universal story at the heart of this play with a cast that is diverse and passionate about the characters, the language, poetry and the themes which Shakespeare so richly layered this play. Dependant upon the turnout of our auditions, performers cast in the secondary roles may be given 2 or more characters to take on. Additional info: -30-60 second monologue from Shakespeare (not Hamlet) or one of his contemporary playwrights, memorized. There will also be cold readings from the script, which are available for perusal online and will assigned at the director’s discretion on the day of the auditions. -Headshots and resumes are optional but helpful. -If you have not already filled out your conflicts in advance, bring your calendar to help determine potential conflicts! Please download auditions sides. Please apply if interested.
