About the project: Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Come audition for your favorite character from the world-famous board game. Did he do it? Did she do it? Did they do it? Let’s have a fun time with CLUE! Additional info: What to Prepare: Candidates should download the sides attached for the character(s) they are interested in auditioning for. *(alive and dead) – these characters appear live on the scene and eventually die and are seen often in the following scenes. A “traditional” British butler in every sense: uptight, formal, and “by the book”. The driving force in the play. This character recaps the entire play in a matter of minutes while acting most of it out.
A loyal and sexy French maid. A French accent is required.
Dry and sardonic. Runs a high-end brothel. More interested in secrets than sex, while this character still must exude sex appeal to the nines.
The wealthy spouse of a senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria.
Pale, morbid, and tragic. White may or may not be the murderer of 5 ex-spouses. This character underplays the comedy with looks and expression.
A puffy- pompous, dense, blowhard military officer.
An arrogant academic, easily impressed by themselves.
A timid yet officious rule follower. Awfully anxious. Must be able to do pratfalls and physical comedy.
THE COOK – Gruff with a threatening presence. SINGING TELEGRAM PERSON –Tap dancer with a heart of gold. *(alive and dead). Must be able to tap a few measures while singing. AUXILIARY SCARLET – The back of Scarlet during a scene of theatrical trickery. BACKUP COP – Backup for Chief in the final scene.
BODDY – A slick film noir personality *(alive and dead). This character has invited everyone else to the mansion. MOTORIST – Professional driver *(alive and dead). CHIEF OF POLICE – A cop who helps save the day.
UNEXPECTED COP – A regular cop *(alive and dead). BACKUP COP – Backup for the Chief. AUXILLARY MUSTARD – The back of Colonel Mustard during a scene of theatrical trickery
