About the project: This is a musical based on the popular children’s books: ROSIE REVERE, ENGINEER, ADA TWIST, SCIENTIST; and IGGY PECK, ARCHITECT. Rate: Special Agreement $546 weekly minimum + per diem (no per diem when in Los Angeles) Additional info: Audition Lunch 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Seeking a diverse company of performers. Performers of all types, ethnicities, and gender identities are strongly encouraged to audition. PREPARATION Be prepared to sing a short song that is fun and up - no ballads. You must have sheet music in the key in which you will be singing. Please have your books with you in case they want to hear something else. Please bring picture and resume. Callback Date: November 16th or 17th Rehearsals: January 16 - 30, 2024, in La Mirada, CA Performance schedule: Los Angeles School performances between 1/31/24 and 2/14/24 La Mirada performances 2/15/24 – 2/17/24 Tour Dates: Leave 2/18/24 and proceed on National Tour through 6/16/24 Touring states include Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Louisiana, Kentucky, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and more. A sweet kid who is used to blending into the background (where she can secretly build machines) as she presumes that no one will understand her ideas. But recently energized by her Great Aunt Rose, she is now testing out her own confidence. Engineer. Vocal range: Sweet Mix to D.
18+ to play a kid. Strong singer/mover. A scientist with nonstop energy. Happy, excited, full of ideas and questions, constantly shifting focus. Her energy is supplemented by her comic timing. Talks fast and doesn’t always listen to the answers to questions she peppers. Sometimes careless, but only out of constant thrill. Vocal range: High Pop Belt to D# is a must.
18+ to play a kid. Strong singer/mover. A sophisticated architect in the body of a second grader. Fine on his own. A dreamer but a dreamer that is just as passionate about realizing his ideas. Dry sense of humor and wit. Straightforward. Calm. Confident. Vocal range: High Agile Pop Belt to Bb is a must.
BIPOC. Strong singer/mover. Rosie’s inspiring GREAT, GREAT AUNT ROSE. A tough but playful Rosie the Riveter-type. Doubles as a student and other characters. Vocal range: Heavy low belt to B.
