Seeking male and female actors for the "Stick Fly" show. Review the details provided below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: What begins as a relaxing summer weekend on Martha’s Vineyard escalates when the LeVay brothers bring their new girlfriends home to meet their affluent and imposing parents. But Mom's not there, and Dad's acting weird. As the newcomers find themselves under familial scrutiny, long-hidden family tensions bubble to the surface and by the end of the weekend, almost everyone at the Vineyard finds themselves under a microscope as they grapple with arguments about class, race and cultural expectations. ​ Additional info: PERFORMANCE DATES: March 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 2024. Each Auditionee will be required to fill out audition form and conflict information. Due to the amount of blocking in this show, all conflicts must be identified at auditions. Conflicts identified during tech week may result in an auditionee not being cast. Anyone missing more than two unexcused rehearsals will be considered for recasting. Exceptions to this request will be for Emergencies only. Auditions may also consist of cold readings from the script. Sides will be provided upon arrival. PLEASE NOTE: The paired actors cast in the roles of Kent LeVay (Spoon)/Taylor and Harold LeVay (Flip)/Kimber have mild intimate romantic moments in the play. Actors selected must be comfortable performing with each other physically in a safe environment with mutual consent and will be involved in the creative process to display intimacy in the production with the support from production staff. Actors are encouraged to bring a monologue but are not required to be off book, you can have a copy on hand as a cold read. If you do not have a monologue directors will provide several to choose from at the audition. To be considered, please apply.

(Spoon) Youngest son of the LeVay family. He has grown up with an artistic disposition in a family of doctors and lawyers. Though financially privileged, he has struggled to find his place in life and with his family.

TaylorFemale25-29 y.o.African-American

Daughter from an earlier marriage of renowned, recently deceased, public intellectual, James Bradley Scott. She was raised by a single mother college professor. Though she carries his name, and so has had entrée to some social privileges, her father was not a part of her life. She also has gone without financially.

CherylFemale18-20 y.o.African-American

The daughter of the family maid. Pretty, bright, always well-intentioned. Cheryl has always had a crush on Flip.

Harold LeVayMale34-38 y.o.African-American

(Flip) Oldest son of the LeVay family. The “golden boy” who, with some compromises, has fallen in line with his father’s expectations. He is an incorrigible ladies’ man.

Joe LeVayMale56-60 y.o.African-American

(Dad) LaVey patriarch. He is a well-intentioned man, who rules his family with a firm, loving hand. He, like Flip, has always had a way with women.

KimberFemale30-34 y.o.White / Caucasian

An intelligent woman with a quick wit and sincere warmth. Unlike Taylor, her social status matches that of the LeVays, with of course, the undeniable privilege of whiteness. Of this she is aware, and on some level appalled.
