Casting Call For Stage Play "Present Laughter"
Theatre is proud to announce auditions for its Spring 2024 production, "Present Laughter". Actors wanted. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. About the project: At the center of his own universe sits matinee idol Garry Essendine: suave, hedonistic and too old, says his wife, to be having numerous affairs. His line in harmless, infatuated debutantes is largely tolerated but playing closer to home is not. Just before he escapes on tour to Africa the full extent of his misdemeanors is discovered. And all hell breaks loose. Noel Coward's Present Laughter premiered in the early years of the Second World War just as such privileged lives were threatened with fundamental social change. Additional info: Please prepare a 1-2 minute British monologue. Callbacks on Thursday, December 14 from 6–10 p.m. At callbacks, actors will read from the script. Rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, January 17th and will be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:00-9:30 PM. Performances will be March 8,9,10,15,16,17,22,23,24. If you are interested, please apply.
