Male/Female Cast Needed For Play “The Road to Lethe"

Auditions for next world premiere production of “The Road to Lethe". Wonderful script seeking 2 African American male actors and 3 Caucasian mature actresses. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: The Road to Lethe is a theatrical retelling of “The Judgement of Paris,” also known as “The Golden Apple,” one of the most infamous stories of Greek mythology in which petty rivalry between three goddesses—Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite—leads to an unprecedented path of human destruction. In this full-length dramatic interpretation of the story, a black handyman is hired by three aging white women after they receive a mysterious parcel from Amazon, a package to which they all lay claim. The play explores issues of systemic racism and white saviorism through a slightly distorted funhouse mirror of Greek mythology. Rate: All roles will be compensated at $50 per performance plus a $100 rehearsal stipend. Additional info: Theatre will consider trans and non-binary actors for all roles, as well as actors with disabilities. All artists are welcome and encouraged to audition including union artists. Artists auditioning for KAL or P, please prepare a contemporary monologue as well as a short poem, limerick or haiku (not to exceed 3 minutes total) for the audition. Feel free to use local poets (Bobby LeFebre, for example) or nationally recognized poets like Amanda Gorman or Dr. Maya Angelou. Artists auditioning for Millie, Clovis or June, please prepare a contemporary monologue not to exceed 2 minutes. All artists, please provide a headshot, resume and list of conflicts from October 28 - December 23, 2023. Invited callbacks scheduled for Tuesday, October 24th from 6pm - 10pm. This play contains adult content as well as gun violence. Rehearsal/Production Schedule: THE ROAD TO LETHE rehearsals will begin on or around October 28th and continue through December 1st with a specific schedule based on actor availability.
