Acting Job in "Like Smoke" Film
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Looking for female actors who can perform in English (with accent or no accent) in a short student film "Like Smoke". Please, see the details below. About the project: "Like Smoke" is a five-minute short film about the relationship between a grandma near the end of her life and her granddaughter. The grandma is on bed rest in her own apartment and her granddaughter busies herself there to avoid confronting reality. She is faced with a moral debate when her grandmother asks her for a cigarette. She eventually allows her to smoke and Grandma reminisces as she inhales, which is represented through dance. Rate: Non-Union project: Open to non-onion and ACTRA members. No remuneration but food on-set. Additional informaiton: 5 minutes short film. Shooting location: Montreal Area. Female or nonbinary. Principal role. White or mixed with white (so it's clear the characters are related). Physical characteristics: Young messy style, rebellious side and is generally unkempt. Underslept and thin, doesn't wear makeup and doesn't care couch about how she looks. Psychological characteristics: Extremely anxious and jumpy (controlling side); Cares a lot about her grandma.
MUST BE ABLE TO DANCE OR BE AGILE. *Won't have to dance for long periods of time, however, must know how to dance to some extent (either ballet or contemporary). Must look older than 55. White or mixed with white (so it's clear the characters are related). Physical characteristics: Grey/white hair, inherent elegance. Holds herself with esteem even though thin, somewhat frail. Psychological characteristics: Stubborn and determined (but never node). Deeply confident, knows what she wants.
