Casting actors for short film, “Della Can Fly!” Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: “Della Can Fly!” is a short sci-fi fantasy film, set in 2000 in West Philadelphia. With the help of his technologically advanced great-niece, a desperate old man proves a generational family myth to be true. Nostalgic and rooted in the importance of family preservation, the film explores and conceptualizes Virginia Hamilton’s black folklore, “The People Can Fly!” Rate: Paid. Meals will be provided. Additional info: Shoot in mid-November for two days. Directors are asking for full-day availability for both days. Please keep in mind that there will be rehearsals before shooting. All filming is set to take place in Philadelphia Please apply if interested.

Younger brother to Kevin and Uncle to Amala. Always looking for the easy way out. He is a father of three, expected to be called the man of the house with no steady income. Appears like he has it all together but he only pretends so he isn’t perceived as weak. Since his father’s passing, he is left responsible for taking care of Uncle Caleb. Reluctant and money-driven, he tries to bully his older brother into selling the house and placing Uncle Charlie in a mental institution.
