Recent college graduate; Millie is Millicent's daughter. She is a self-critical introvert who yearns for success, which she defines as external validation from others. When confronted with the one person she believes she let down, Millie grapples with discovering her identity beyond the opinions and perceptions of others.
An ex-teacher and Millie's mother was an overcompensating perfectionist who prioritized recognition and admiration over mental well-being. Although she has passed away from suicide, when presented with the chance to confront the enduring consequences of her parenting, she must strive to break the cycle before it becomes irreparable.
