About the project: Set in the early 2000s "AS THE SUN HITS" is an inspiring coming-of-age short film that explores themes of sexuality, struggles of adolescence, and the complex relationship between two best friends, Al and Oscar. Set in a suburban neighborhood, Al and Oscar spend an evening at their favorite spot, the dugout, tensions rise when Al begins a new relationship with Naomi, leaving Oscar feeling left behind. A heated argument between the two friends escalates into a physical fight, and they part ways. However, the film takes a turn when both Al and Oscar realize the importance of their friendship and their deep connection. Through heartfelt conversations and self-discovery, they come to terms with their feelings for each other and share a meaningful kiss, symbolizing their reconciliation.
