"The Trees" Stage Play Casting Men & Women
Theater is holding auditions for the regional premiere of "The Trees". Searching for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. About the project: The Trees by Agnes Borinsky is a full-length play that tells the story of a brother and sister who literally take root in the earth and turn into trees. As news of this spectacle spreads, people from many walks of life converge on the park where they have taken root: sometimes the visitors arrive out of curiosity; sometimes an altruistic desire to help; other times still, a sense of opportunism. Over the course of the play, the siblings become pillars of an accidental and richly meaningful community. This will be the regional premiere of the play – the world premiere took place at Playwrights Horizons in 2023. Rate: The stipend for each actor will amount to $800-$1,000, depending on the role. Additional info: Looking for 11 sweet souls of all ages and ethnicities to take part in a play that compassionately studies the love, anguish, and tenderness of being in community. Come to your slot ready to perform a two-minute monologue (classical, contemporary, silly, or serious!) – memorization is encouraged, but not required. Theatre resumes are also encouraged but not necessary. Callbacks will be held from 6-9:30PM on Tuesday, October 3rd. Rehearsals will start the week of November 27th, and performances will take place in mid-late January, with a break for the holidays from December 15th-26th. If you are interested, please apply.
