Seeking Talent for "The Elves and the Shoemaker" Show

The musical "The Elves and the Shoemaker" seeks actors. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: A poor cobbler has broken his arm and can no longer make his beautiful shoes. If the rent isn’t paid immediately, the landlord will evict him and his wife. However, instead of selling their last pair of shoes, the poor yet generous couple gives them away to a needy beggar woman. That night, they go to bed weary, worried, and penniless. Suddenly, a troupe of elves appear, singing and dancing, and revive the cobbler’s work. Additional info: Audition Info : -Please prepare 16-32 bars (60 seconds or less) of a song that best suits your vocal ability. -Please bring your accompaniment on a track, since an accompanist will not be provided. Singing acapella is discouraged. -Actors will be asked to perform a short monologue provided by the director prior to the audition. -There will be a dance component to the audition at call-backs for certain roles (bring appropriate footwear and dress to move). -Actors will be doing cold readings from the script at callbacks. -Roles may be double cast depending on actor availability. Production Dates: -November 17 - December 16, 2023, performances will be on Thursdays and Fridays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. There is a performance on Tuesday, -December 12th at 11:00 a.m. Additional performances may be scheduled based on cast availability. -Rehearsals begin October 9, 2023, and are generally Mondays, Tuesdays, (no Wednesdays) Thursdays, and Fridays from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – to 1:00 p.m. (Not everyone will be called to all rehearsals).
