"Departure" Film Looking for Cast

About the project: Miles, a reclusive young man living alone in the city, is on a weekly call with his therapist when he’s interrupted by a knock at his door. He is met with his father, Henry, last seen by Miles four years ago on the other side of prison plexiglass. Miles lets him in and while it’s awkward at first, they soon find an old rhythm they’d thought was long lost. By the end of the night, there’s still much work to be done in their relationship, but both manage to end in a better place than where they started. Rate: Non union. Volunteer project, no monetary compensation. Food provided on set, IMDb credit, and footage will be provided for demo reels. Additional information: STUDENT PRODUCTION. Miles is a directionless and closed-off college dropout, who often uses dry humour to avoid confronting his painful past. While at first thinking he is content with his independent lifestyle, the return of his father Henry brings back bad memories, but also causes him to realize he may no longer be able to continue on alone.
Henry is a stoic but kind man who has lived a long and tiring life. Fresh out of serving a four-year prison sentence for financial crimes, he finds himself on his estranged son Mile’s doorstep. He has lost everything, but now with Miles feels he has a chance to repair some of the damage left in his wake.
