Male/Female Cast For "Do I Hear a Laugh?" Staged Readings
Seeking actors for an upcoming weekend of staged readings "Do I Hear a Laugh?". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. About the project: The plays being read are: "The Rivals", "Arms and the Man", "An Ideal Husband". Rate: No pay but small stipend. There is a stipend of $25 for each play an actor gets cast in. Additional info: Non-equity. Callbaks will be held at the theatre on Monday, October 2nd and Tuesday, October 3rd for "Arms and the Man" and "An Ideal Husband" and on Monday, October 9th and Tuesday October 10th for "The Rivals." Callbaks will be in the evening. There will be several rehearsals for each play in order to work out the staging. But the weekend consists of three script-in-hand-performances. Actors should be able to handle heightened language. Credible English accents are a plus but not determinative. It is possible the Shaw play may not be doing English accents. Good acting is the deciding factor. IMPORTANT: directors strongly encourage actors of all races and ethnicities to apply. They are definitely interested in non-traditional casting.
