About the project: Synopsis: This is a touching and beautiful story of a young couple unable to afford presents for each other on their first Christmas together. Each sacrifices a treasure to provide a gift for the other but, in so doing, they work at almost tragically funny cross-purposes. This is a play about young love and the value of giving. Indeed, the Magi were wise—and their gifts were wise gifts, however foolish in the eyes of the practical. Rate: Non paid. Additional info: Audition Requirements: Everyone auditioning for a “role” will need to do cold readings from the script and everyone auditioning for a Caroler will need to sing 16 bars of a song a cappella...preferably a Christmas Carol. Young and naive wife who is desperately in love with her husband. She is totally devoted to her husband and wants nothing more than to be loved by her him and be a devoted wife. Her innocence should be genuine and always forthcoming.
Young businessman who is head over heels in love with his wife. He is hard working and wants nothing more than to give everything in the world to his lovely wife. He loves his wife’s sweet and kind disposition and sees her as an angel. He would do anything to make her happy.
This person should be a stern and savvy business person.
Distinguished businessman (Jim’s boss) who is much more interested in making a profit than in Christmas or family needs...he’s all business and no pleasure.
This person is a salesclerk who would like to make as much money as possible on a sale, but has a heart of gold.
In need of 4-6 people. The Carolers will need to sing as a group and perform 5 carols during the production. The signing will be a cappella.
