"The Outsiders" Stage Play In Need Of Young Actors

About the project: Synopsis: A searing story of real kids in real situations with real consequences seen through the eyes of Ponyboy. Territorial battles between the have-it-made rich kids and the underprivileged "greasers". But even in the midst of urban gang warfare Ponyboy can't forget a short poem that speaks to their fragile young lives. This heroic story of belonging, friendship, and maintaining hope in the face of struggle is a powerful reminder of what young people encounter everyday. Additional info: This show is part of our Young Artist Series shows but it is for older Young Artists and Young Adults. The story takes place in the US in the 60's. No accents needed. Please become familiar with the story before auditions. Guys should be willing to grow out their hair. Show dates: November 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19.

Ponyboy's older brother. He is a high school dropout and works at the local gas station. He is "movie-star" handsome.
Oldest brother and legal guardian of Ponyboy and Soda. He works too hard and too long, and would be in college, if life had turned out different.
A fellow greaser, who is originally from New York City. He is a bit tougher than the others in Ponyboy's gang, and he has already seen the inside of a jail.
The "gang's pet." He is 16 years old, physically small, and comes from a physically and verbally abusive home.
The one of the oldest of the gang. He is the wisecracking comedian of the gang.
Sodapop's girlfriend.
A cheerleader and the girlfriend of Bob. Cherry is attracted to Dallas, and becomes a spy for the greasers.
Cherry's girlfriend at the drive-in.
Part of the Soc gang. Gets into a lot fights.
An older Soc gang member.
The owner of the blue Mustang that haunts Johnny. He is Bob's best friend and fellow Soc.
