Performers cast in HEATHERS THE MUSICAL must be available for ALL required rehearsals. NO performance based conflicts will be approved. Please prepare 1-2 Minutes of a musical theatre song of your choice. Please no songs from HEATHERS. There will be a group movement portion to your audition, please dress comfortably. Mezzo. Burns to be both cool and kind, but doesn't yet know how to be both at the same time. Fierce sense of right and wrong, keen sense of ironic humour. Thinks she's an old soul, but still innocent enough to be blindsided by love or shocked by cruelty. Please see the attachment.
Tenor. Darkly charismatic, compelling on the outside, damaged on the inside. Keen Smarts, savage wit. Consent Advisory: This character has high levels of physical contact & kissing throughout the story. Actor portraying J.D. will be required to simulate sex with actor portraying Veronica clothed, NO pelvic region contact. Possible upper body exposure.
Mezzo. The richest, hottest, cruelest girl in town. Relishes power and wields it without fear, patience, or mercy. Consent Advisory: This character bullies other characters both verbally and physically. Actor portraying Heather Chandler will be required to physically push other performers.
Soprano. Beautiful, innocent, ditzy. Can be mean on command if Heather Chandler orders it, but is actually quite vulnerable and fearful. Consent Advisory: This character is bulimic and attempts suicide via drug overdose.
Mezzo. The whipped beta dog of the three Heathers. Deeply insecure. When she finally becomes Queen Bee, she wields power like a bulldozer. Consent Advisory: This character bullies other characters, drives Heather McNamara to attempt suicide. Actor portraying Heather Duke will be physically pushed by Heather Chandler.
Mezzo. Nicknamed "Martha Dumptruck", the opposite of confident and popular. Huge and beautiful soul, Optimistic even in the face of rejection. Consent Advisory: This character is heavily bullied, primarily verbal, about their weight. Actor portraying Martha will be required to hug the actor portraying Veronica.
Baritone. Linebacker, big, insensitive to the feelings of others, ruled by appetites. Consent Advisory: This Character heavily bullies other characters, both verbally and physically. Actor portraying Ram will be required to simulate aggressively manhandling actor portraying Veronica, NO pelvic region contact. Will spend much of the story in boxer short underwear.
Tenor. Quarterback and Capitan. Chiseled, rude, entitled, cocky. He is the brains in the friendship with Ram. Consent Advisory: This Character heavily bullies other characters, both verbally and physically. Actor portraying Kurt will be required to simulate aggressively manhandling actor portraying Veronica, NO pelvic region contact. Will spend much of the story in boxer short underwear.
Baritone. Former football player turned suburban dad, has never outgrown his high school glory days. Hates weakness, but capable of soul searching when tragedy strikes. Consent Advisory: Actor portraying Ram's Dad will be required to hug and kiss actor portraying Kirt's Dad.
Baritone. Straight-laced, very conservative, also former football player. A Simple Guy, not book smart, you'd be happy to share a beer with him. Consent Advisory: Actor portraying Kurt's Dad will be required to hug and kiss actor portraying Ram's Dad.
Mezzo. Aging hippie teacher, still yearning for the day the Age of Aquarius reaches Ohio. Resentful of today's entitled youth, protective of the underdogs. Despite a penchant for self-promotion, genuinely cares about the students in her charge.
Tenor. Rumpled, burned out, hates conflict.
Baritone. Stalwart, man's man, quick to defend his players.
Non Singing. Easygoing, distant, yet capable of laying down the law. Consent Advisory: Actor portraying Veronica's Mom may be required to hug actor portraying Veronica.
Non Singing. Easygoing and distant.
Non Singing. J.D.'s single dad. Big personality that barely conceals the enormous rage bubbling just below the surface. Quite possibly a serial bomber.
