"Kisapmata" Play In Need of Female Performers

Calgary, AB, Canada
ID: 232708Exp: 6/26/2023
Description:

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. The production of "Kisapmata" is looking for two female performers. Please, see the details below. About the play: The Tagalog word “kisapmata” means “blink of an eye”. It’s also the title of a punk banger by Filipino band, Rivermaya. Inspired by this song, this play tells the love story of two Filipina women – one living in the diaspora and the other, born and raised in the Philippines. Through intimate vignettes, we see the longing, the diving in, and eventually, the letting go. Additional information: Rehearsals begin January 8, 2024. Opens February 1, 2024. Closes February 18, 2024. Selected actors will be sent an audition invitation and instructions to prepare their audition material. You will also be asked to present 2-4 minutes on something that is important to you or that you feel passionate about followed by a conversation on what you have chosen to share with casting directors. This could be whatever pierces you as a person and/or artist. This will also be followed by working a side chosen from the script with the director – it might be cold and that is something that they take into account. The audition process should last about 20-25 min for each person. If interested, please apply. SUBMISSION DEADLINE: June 26, 2023.
