About the project: When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Mix in Violet, the drugged-up, the scathingly acidic matriarch, and you’ve got a major play that unflinchingly—and uproariously—exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family. Those auditioning should be familiar with the themes and language used in the show. Additional info: Please plan to arrive at the scheduled start time so the director is able to have pairing options. Auditions will consist of reading selected script passages. Auditioners are welcome (not required) to bring a prepared monologue of no more than two minutes in length.
