About the project: Aaron, a young man who struggles with insecurity and trust issues, believes that he is in an unhealthy relationship with his long-term close friend Jason. Aaron soon becomes radicalized by his friend, Sean. Sean is only Aaron’s imaginary friend made up by internet strangers’ comments. In his imagination, Aaron murders Jason out of anger. In reality, Aaron isolates himself from Jason despite Jason’s attempt to get in contact with Aaron. He considers putting his imagination into action. Rate: Non-union. This is a volunteer project. Credits will be given and the film will be uploaded online. Additional information: STUDENT PRODUCTION. Final rehearsals will commence one week prior to the first day of shooting. Location production will run for the duration of 3 days. AUDITION LOCATION: online-only. SHOOT/PERFORMANCE DATE(S): July 14-16. SHOOT/PERFORMANCE LOCATION(S): Downtown Vancouver. Aaron starts out as an empathetic young man that has an annoying friend. As the story progresses, his fear and paranoia grow. He sees his friend as a hostile enemy and soon becomes unbearable. Aaron has an imaginative mind. It darkens and reflects how Aaron’s mindset turns unhealthy. In reality, Aaron is cowardice and non-confrontational. He thinks too much and does too little. Aaron is acquiescent. His lack of critical thinking leads to his own tragedy.
Jason is Aaron’s close friend. Jason does not know how to express his emotion to others as well. Instead of being submissive, Jason hides his affection to others with a tough surface. He is bad at empathizing with other people and hurtful words comes out of his mouth without a thought. Deep down, Jason is a caring and thoughtful person. He tries to make others happy without expressing his true emotion.
Sean is an imaginary friend in Aaron’s mind. His/her lines are comments from the internet. His/her voice can either be cold and robotic or direct and misleading.
