Casting Call For Historical Play
Actors sought for historical play based upon the life of Eunice Chapman. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: The story: In the early 19th century, Eunice Chapman’s children had been taken away from her by her husband, James. At a time when American women had neither property rights nor civil rights, Eunice was a revolutionary force in her steadfast efforts to reclaim her children. She eventually went on to obtain the first legislative divorce in New York State history. Additional info: This play is currently a work in progress and changes may be made during the rehearsal process. Rehearsals starting July 10th, 4 nights per week. Performances on August 11th and 12th. When applying, please include a video submission of a dramatic monologue.

18+. Elder Hannah is a leader in the Shaker community, unsympathetic to Eunice and Catherine. Mrs. Geddis is a witness in the trial in support of Eunice.
18+. Trial coordinator and law enforcement agent.

18+. Escaped from the Shaker community. Witness at Eunice’s trial.
18+. Shaker community leader. Allows children to be taken from “outsider” mothers.

18+. Shaker community member. Right hand man of Elder Seth.
