Auditions for production of "Circle Mirror Transformation". Please see the breakdown below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: In the small town of Shirley, Vermont, five strangers gather in a dance studio to embark on a unique journey together in a creative drama class for adults. The group moves through a series of acting exercises, ranging from the heartbreaking to the ridiculous. In this one small room, through these few seemingly trivial games, quiet wars are waged, emotional wounds are nursed, and healing is finally, slowly, able to begin. Additional info: Performance Dates: Sept 15 - Oct 10, 2023, Fri & Sat at 8 pm; Sun at 2 pm. PRODUCTION TIMELINE AND EXPECTATIONS. Rehearsals: Table Read: July 17, 2023, at 7:00 pm. Rehearsals: typically from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some Wednesdays as needed. Tech Week: September 9, 2023, through September 14, 2023. Performances: September 15, 2023, through October 1, 2023. Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm. Sundays at 2:00 pm. One Thursday evening performance at 8:00 pm on September 21, 2023. Call time is 2 hours before show time. Additional Expectations for Cast Members. Provide some costume items (at the request of the costume designer). Stay after the opening night performance for a reception Participate in a talk-back after the performance on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Stay after the closing performance to strike the production Attend the wrap party after set strike finishes (TBD location within 3 miles of the theater). Be familiar with the show and the characters, as there are adult situations and language. Prepare the appropriately provided monologue(s). Hard copies will be available at the audition. The director is seeking grounded performances that are sensitive to pacing. Helpful character information may be embedded in audition monologues for other characters.
