Cast For Production Of "Star-Crossed: A Midsummer's Nightmare"
Auditions for "Star-Crossed: A Midsummer's Nightmare" show. Looking for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the details below. About the project: The words and themes are Shakespeare, but the story is a fantastical new take on the canon. STAR-CROSSED: A MIDSUMMER NIGHTMARE brings together beloved characters from over 17 of the bards works and presents them with unexpected and non-traditional entanglements. The darker themes and texts from plays like Richard III, King Lear, Othello and others are thrust upon familiar characters like Oberon, Mercutio, Juliet and even Juliet’s Nurse, as audiences are presented with a new “fictional reality” that is both sensual and frightening. Rate: All artists involved in production will be compensated on a sliding scale according to the time demands of their involvement in the production throughout the process: from pre-production through the rehearsal period and through the final performance. The scale will be determined at the beginning of each production process, as it will vary for each production based upon how many artists are involved. The scale will be made available for review by the invested members of each production. All ticket sales will be divided among the members of the production based upon the pay scale of that production. The box office sales will be made available for review by the invested members of each production. Complimentary ticket (and other similar offers that will affect the price or quantity of tickets sold) policies for each production will be decided by the invested members of each production. Additional info: Rehearsals will take place in late June and July, and will be scheduled according to cast and crew availability. Performances: Mon 8/14 - Thurs 8/17 Mon 8/21 - Thurs 8/24 When applying, please include a video of a 60-second monologue of heightened text. Please include in the subject line "NAME/SHOW TITLE/DESIRED ROLE(S)".
