Performers Needed for "Murder on the Orient Express" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking talent for the "Murder on the Orient Express" play. Please, see the details below. Additional information: Rehearsals begin late July; Friday evenings, Sunday afternoons, one other evening TBD. Tech/Performances: Oct 16-21, 2023 in Oakville. Sides will be provided, prepared monologues are welcome though not necessary. The play will require accents and directors would love to hear yours in the audition if you are comfortable with it. Belgian owner of the Orient Express train. A friend of Hercule Poirot's. Well-mannered, charming and in good humour.
The English mistress of Col. Arbuthnot, in the prime of her looks.
American assistant to Samuel Ratchett. Nervous and subservient.
French conductor of the Orient Express and Head Waiter of the Tokatlian Hotel. Good looking, but grave. Waiter: Suck up, but not very smart.
Russian princess, expensively dressed and bejeweled. A presence to be reckoned with.
Swedish handmaiden to Princess Dragomiroff. Unmarried, plain and religious. Easily spooked. A missionary.
Used to be a commoner, but married into nobility. Hungarian. Trained to be a doctor. Stunningly beautiful with expensive clothes to match. Impeccably charming and warm.
American, outspoken and flamboyant. Well-dressed.
Scottish Colonel, handsome with a very matter of fact manner.
American businessman. Does not suffer fools and is very brusque and intimidating. (possibly to be doubled with Col. Arbuthnot).
