"All Shook Up" Show Looking for Performers
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. Directors are looking for performers to play roles in the production of "All Shook Up". Please, see the details below. About the project: Somewhere in the midwest in the 1950s, Chad, a hip-swiveling, guitar-playing roustabout, is being released from prison ("Jailhouse Rock"). In a nearby dreary little town, Natalie, a young mechanic, is dreaming of love and adventure while she yearns for one true love to take her away, but she doesn't realize that her best friend Dennis has a secret crush on her ("Love Me Tender"). Sitting in Sylvia's, the local honky tonk, the whole town sings the blues ("Heartbreak Hotel"). Natalie's widowed father Jim enters and joins in, until they're interrupted by the roar of a motorcycle: it is Chad ("Roustabout"). Chad is in need of a mechanic and he's introduced to Natalie, who is instantly smitten ("One Night With You") and promises to fix his broken down bike. Additional information: Location: Peterborough. Please come prepared to sing and dance. For the singing, prepare approximately 1 minute of a musical theatre song or any song from the 50s that showcases your voice. The production will have the music director there so feel free to bring sheet music for accompaniment or a device on which to play a backing track or be prepared to sing acapella. For the dancing, just be sure to be in clothes that you can move comfortably in. You will be asked to read from the script if you're planning to audition for a specific role. You will be provided with the page upon arrival to review. If interested, please apply.
