Casting Call for "Freaky Friday" Musical Show

The company is holding auditions for the "Freaky Friday" Show and looking for dancers/actors and singers, please see the details below. About the project: "Freaky Friday" is a musical based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Mary Rodgers. The story centers around a mother and daughter, Katherine and Ellie, who don't see eye to eye and have trouble understanding each other's perspectives. After a heated argument, they both wish to live in each other's shoes, and their wish is granted when they wake up in each other's bodies the next day. They then have to navigate each other's lives and deal with the challenges that come with being in someone else's body. As they spend more time in each other's bodies, they begin to understand and appreciate each other's lives and gain a new perspective on their relationship. The musical explores themes of empathy, understanding, and the importance of communication in relationships. Additional info: Performances Dates: September 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23, 2023 - Show at 7:00 p.m. with Matinees on September 3, and 17, 2023 - Show at 2 p.m. Audition Requirements: Come prepared to sing with a piano. An accompanist will be provided. Songs from the show are encouraged! Please bring your own sheet music if you are not singing a song from the show. No A Cappella or taped music. You may be asked to dance, so please bring appropriate shoes. You may also be asked to do a cold reading from the script. *Most adults will play several roles throughout the show. COVID-19 safety protocols per the CDPH and KCPH will be adhered to throughout the rehearsal and performance process. Please see the attachment for more details.
