About the project: FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is looking for an analytical minded and highly-creative digital content creator to join the #1 digital and news team. Reporting to the Digital Content Manager, the Digital Content Creator will be laser-focused on telling stories that matter most to digital and social users - and doing it better than anyone else. Additional info: Requirements: This position requires exceptional written, verbal, digital media skills, and solid news judgment. Must have journalistic integrity and an understanding of print and broadcast newsroom standards and AP style. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of CMS (Content Management Systems) such as WordPress with a solid understanding of web standards, design, and usability. Excellent writing, editing, troubleshooting, copy editing, and web production skills required. Candidates must have experience writing digital stories, sending breaking push alerts, live streaming, and editing photos, graphics and videos. Must be comfortable and experienced using various tools to make informed editorial decisions. High standard of quality and attention to detail. Must be self-motivated, deadline driven, and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred. Prior newsroom and digital media experience required. Three (3) years’ experience developing, editing, and publishing news content on digital and social platforms. Two to three (2-3) years' experience in a medium to major broadcast market. Proficient in content management systems, SEO, photo and video publishing, live streaming, and digital analytical tools. Excellent writer and storyteller with flawless copy-editing skills. Experience publishing content on digital and social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
