About the project: Seasons Cycle is a 10-minute fantasy genre short film being produced by the Northern Virginia Motion Picture Co-Op. In it, a Forest Nymph protects her realm by luring interlopers to their doom. Over the course of 4 seasons, we see her interact with 4 other characters while she sports a variety of striking looks, some beautiful and some monstrous. Rate: This budget is really little. Loriella is a forest Nymph, an otherworldly fey spirit that represents the spirit of the woods. Young and beautiful in spring, regal and commanding in summer, creepy and unsettling in autumn,and dying in winter. Commitment is 4 shooting days and 2 days for makeup/costume tests. Shooting days are 2 in mid-July, 1 in mid-fall, and 1 in early winter, final scheduling and location TBD. Pay is $200/day for shooting days and $100/Day for Makeup/Costume tests.
The Hunter is young-ish medieval or renaissance man hunting alone in the forest. He knows how to track game and knows how to handle a bow, but is not worldly. He is unprepared for the supernatural and easily taken in by a pretty face. Commitment is 1 Shooting day in mid-July, with the possibility of a second shooting day with the 2nd Unit. Pay is $100/day for shooting days
The woodcutter is a mature and physically imposing man of a medieval or renaissance era, chopping trees in the forest. He is superstitious and wary, but not nearly as strong-willed as he thinks he is. Commitment is 1 Shooting day in mid-July, with the possibility of a second shooting day with the 2nd Unit. Pay is $100/day for shooting days.
The Druid is a medieval or Renaissance hedge-magician, looking for signs of the supernatural in the forest. They are determined and powerful, but respectful of the strength of nature. When their natural magic fails them, they know enough to be scared. This role requires some running/physicality. Commitment is 1 Shooting day in mid-autumn, with the possibility of a second shooting day with the 2nd Unit. Pay is $100/day for shooting days.
The Urchin is a young boy or young man lost in the woods in winter, unprepared, and worried. . Commitment is 1 Shooting day TBD sometime between Mid-October and Mid-December, with the possibility of a second shooting day with the 2nd Unit in Mid-December. Actors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Pay is $100/day for shooting days.
