Time: Present day Rachel Watson longs for a different life. Her only escape is the perfect couple she watches through the train widow every day, happy and in love. Or so it appears. When Rachel learns that the woman she’s been secretly watching has suddenly disappeared, she finds herself as a witness and even suspect in a thrilling mystery in which she will face bigger revelations than she could ever have anticipated. Rate: NO PAY//NON-AEA (small travel stipend available). Additional info: Rehearsals begin: August 13 -September 28. Monday-Thursday 7-10 pm, Sundays, 6-9 pm. No rehearsals: Sept. 3, 4. Brush up rehearsal: Oct. 19. Performances: Sept. 29, 30 Oct 1* Oct. 6, 7, 8*, 20, 21, 22* *= 2 pm all other shows at 8 pm. No shows Oct 13, 14 & 15. Prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary dramatic monologue that is representative of the roles for which you are interested. All characters will use a British accent. Protagonist. Divorced, alcoholic and prone to black outs. Unemployed. Spends her days riding trains back and forth from London in hope of escaping her loneliness, boredom, misery. She uncovers truths about her past through years of gaslighting and abuse. She goes on a journey back to self-worth.
Lying, conniving, antagonist. Disguises himself as a loving husband. His persona is built on a fragile web of secrets and lies. He’s sly, magnetic and deceptive.
Tom Watson’s former mistress and current wife. Image conscious. Absorbed by motherhood. She is overprotective of her baby daughter, Evie, to the point of suffocation in order to distract herself from the larger problems in life.
The missing woman. Young, artistic, sensitive woman with a dark past and a restless, insatiable spirit. Relentless need for male attention and approval. She’s married to Scott Hipwell.
Hyper-masculine and volatile husband. Possessive of Megan. IT professional who runs his own business. Tech savvy.
Muslim refugee from Bosnia working as a therapist in Witney, a suburb of London. Quiet, soft-spoken man Sensitive, thoughtful and deeply invested in is patients’ well-being. Megan’s therapist.
