Casting Performers for Monty Python’s "Spamalot" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking performers for Monty Python’s "Spamalot" Play. Please see the details below. About the project: Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”, “Monty Python’s Spamalot” retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of humorous knights, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs. The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.” Additional info: Rehearsals will be primarily during the summer and on weekday evenings and will be sorted after all conflicts are considered. Performances are Friday, August 4th, and Saturday, August 5th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 6th at 2 p.m. “Spamalot” show dates are both August 4th and August 5th at 7:30 p.m. as well as Sunday, August 6th at 2:00 p.m. Everyone auditioning should come prepared to sing a song, read lines from the script, and dance to choreography taught at auditions. The music director will be checking your vocal range. No need to prepare an elaborate song. 30-60 seconds of a song will do. Please sing your song with a track or CD that you bring, or sing a cappella. There is no need to bring sheet music. There is also no need to memorize anything prior to auditions. Please wear tennis shoes or dance shoes that will stay on your feet. Each audition will last an hour. If you are interested, please apply.
