About the project: Theater Dome is the quirky story of the students and staff at The Arts Creation Technological Campus, the area's premiere school of the arts, fifteen years ago, which is now in a heap of financial troubles. The series will follow the group through ups and downs as they navigate how to save the school from extinction and keep hope alive for their future careers in entertainment and education. The pilot episode follows new students through an orientation day where introductions are made, assignments are given and mishaps, and comedy, take place around every corner. Rate: Low to No budget. Actors will be provided with food as well as appropriate iMDB/screen credit, first right of refusal to reprise your role should the pilot get picked up and made into a series, and a copy of the final project for their reels. Additional info: Non-Union Project - All are welcome to audition. The pilot episode will be filmed over the course of 2-3 days in Raleigh, NC and the local surrounding areas. A passion for creativity and teaching with an eccentric interior and business exterior. He has 20 new business ideas running at a time. He never removes his rose-colored glasses while he struggles to save his failing school at all costs.
The Dean’s right (and left) hand woman. Dedicated to the Dean, no matter how zany his ideas are. She’s been with the school from the beginningand handles all accounting and administration needs of the school. Sheuses an A/V cart to steady herself as she roams the halls, too proud to admit she needs a walker. With a poor sense of direction, she tends to circle the similar looking hallways.
A theatre mastermind, who doesn’t have an off button. Her only obstacle is her own excitement for the craft. Over eager to make new friends, which is a blessing and a curse, she sees the best in all people (good and bad).
First time off of the reservation, passion is performing. Motivation to go to school of the arts is to get his own people’s culture out into the world and not just get more of the same into himself. His tribe paid his way to a Native American studies college, but William has secretly transferred his admission and the tribe’s money to the arts school.
Has been by the Dean’s side since he graduated in the first class of the college. Handles all the physical needs of the campus and is often blamed when something breaks, and never praised when something goes well. He takes care of his health, helpful, but keeps his distance from the students so he doesn’t get distracted from his ever growing to do list.
Recently kicked out of Juilliard, his agent forces him to do a semester at Theatre Dome to get back to his roots. Easy on the eyes, mysterious and elusive, his brilliant performance gift is often overshadowed by his cocky mightier than all attitude.
Confident and talented, vocal arts teacher, who lost his ability to sing when he overused and blew out his vocal cords. He has some hope to be able to sing again one day, but for now he uses the keyboard to hit notes when teaching his students.
Sharp with an eye for style, which she uses as the school’s costume and set design professor. She is strict in school, but lets loose when off duty. Her jealousy of the female students is fueled by her feelings of missing her own opportunities to perform when she was their age
