Casting call for "The Chinese Lady" show. Looking for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the details below. Rate: $400 weekly, with a $10 per diem for time on site in Oklahoma City. Some group meals will be provided by local restaurants. Additional info: Seeking non-union collegiate and early-career* artists who have prior theatre or music experience. They require all company members to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Company defines early-career artists as those who have yet to be substantially celebrated in the theatre industry, the media, or the public at large. HOUSING & TRAVEL: In addition to the standard weekly compensation and per diem, out-of-town actors will also be given a $350 travel reimbursement and premium housing accommodations in Oklahoma City near shops & restaurants. When applying, please include a recent headshot and resume, as well as an unlisted YouTube link containing one (1) contemporary monologue, about a minute in length.

Afong Moy ages nearly fifty years over the course of the play, becoming increasingly critical of America’s capitalist nature and objectification of Eastern culture.

Male-identifying, Chinese. Atung serves as Afong Moy’s translator and companion. He feels timeless, protective of Afong Moy, and is far more accustomed to American culture. Atung hides his true, complex feelings beneath stoicism.
