Looking for Talent for "Guys & Dolls" Show
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking performers for the production of "Guys and Dolls." Please see the details below. Additional info: Please prepare a brief song (under one minute) in the style of the show (singing from the show is ok). Please bring sheet music in the correct key. A capella singing is discouraged, and Bluetooth/mobile devices with backing tracks will not be permitted. The show will run May 12-21 in downtown Fairfield. Rehearsals are generally Mon-Thurs evenings and Sundays 3-8pm. Actors will not be needed every day until they get closer to opening. Required sitzprobe rehearsal (sing through with the orchestra) will occur on Saturday May 6 @ 1pm. All tech rehearsals are required and will take place the evenings of Sun May 7-Thurs May 11. Rehearsals will begin on Tues March 21st. Safety precautions will be taken seriously per current CDC guidelines during rehearsals and performances. Video auditions are accepted. Male-Presenting, B5-D4. Just like his name suggests, he is the nicest and cheeriest of the gambling crooks. High-spirited and a bit naïve, but sincere and genuine. Nathan’s loyal friend and lackey.
Male-Presenting, G5-D4, Nathan’s right-hand man and a gambler himself. Smart, slick, always moving and shaking, but with what he thinks are Nathan’s best interest at heart.
Female-Presenting, G5-B3. A headstrong, bright-eyed woman who serves as Sergeant of the local Mission. Idealistic, sheltered, and straightlaced, she is passionate about her cause and wishes to convert the gambling sinners to saints. Falls unexpectedly in love with gambler Sky Masterson along the way.
He is the older, wiser leader of the Salvation Army in Times Square. He is a reasoned old man with a warm heart that harbors only the kindest intentions, even if he tends to be a little gullible. Family to Sarah Brown.
G5-F3, A crook and gambler. He is a tough guy with dollar signs as his bottom line. Brings Big Jule into Nathan’s craps game and backs his cheating, but is also a man of his word in the gambling community.
A New York police officer who is on to Nathan’s illegal craps games and is dead-set on catching him. A tough, no-nonsense character.
Male-Presenting, F5-D4, A good-hearted gambler and craps game organizer who could never hit the bigtime. He loves Adelaide, but cannot quit his gambling ways. A broke schemer with unwitting ways, but always lovable and charming.
Male-Presenting. E5-B3, A high-stakes gambler whose luck never seems to run out, and a wild card who surprises himself when he falls in love with missionary Sarah Brown. Suave, smart, handsome.
G5-F3: A big time craps player from Chicago who uses a gun and his own pair of rigged dice to bully his way into never losing. Can be tough looking, or specifically NOT tough looking. A bit of an oaf.
